AuditBoard pricing is quote-only: the company, renamed Optro in March 2026, publishes no prices on its site. Vendr's purchase data puts the median AuditBoard buyer at $45,947 a year, across 86 purchases ranging from $21,220 to $111,208, with implementation adding roughly 10 to 25 percent in the first year.

That median is a useful anchor, but it hides how the bill is built. AuditBoard is sold by module, and each module is metered on something different: users for internal audit, controls or entities for SOX, vendors and frameworks for IT compliance. Below is what the data says, what drives each line, what a three-year contract really costs, and what to settle before you sign.

How much does AuditBoard cost?

AuditBoard costs about $46,000 a year for the median buyer, according to Vendr's February 2026 data on 86 purchases. Real contracts run from about $21,000 for a single module and a small team to more than $111,000 for multi-module programs, and enterprise deals go higher. The vendor's pricing page, now at optro.ai, shows no figures and routes every plan to a sales form.

One detail on the vendor's own page is worth noting: it advertises unlimited stakeholder licenses with no fee for additional ones. So the people who only receive requests, approve evidence or answer an audit question do not add cost. The named users who run the work do.

What drives AuditBoard pricing, module by module

AuditBoard pricing is driven by which modules you license and by a different meter inside each one. Vendr lists five core solutions and an additional vendor risk product; optro.ai now names ten products, including Controls Management, OpsAudit, CrossComply, RiskOversight, RegComply, TPRM, AI Governance and Business Continuity Management.

ModuleWhat it is forWhat moves its price
Internal Audit (OpsAudit)Audit planning, workpapers, issuesNamed users; teams of 20 or more see lower per-user rates
SOX ComplianceSection 404 control documentation and testingNumber of controls or legal entities in scope
IT Audit and Security Compliance (CrossComply)SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST and similar frameworksNumber of frameworks, controls or vendors
Enterprise Risk Management (RiskOversight)Risk registers and board reportingUsers; Vendr says bundled ERM prices 20 to 30 percent lower than standalone
ESG Program ManagementSustainability reportingNumber of frameworks or reporting standards
Third-Party Risk ManagementVendor assessmentsSold as an additional product, priced on request

The practical consequence: two companies with the same headcount can get quotes $50,000 apart. A pre-IPO company buying SOX alone for one entity is a very different contract from a multinational buying internal audit, SOX across 30 entities and CrossComply for three security frameworks.

The SOX meter rewards a lean control set. Many key controls at a mid-size company are account reconciliations, and teams that automate bank reconciliation upstream often end up with fewer manual key controls to document and test, which is worth knowing before the controls count goes into a quote.

What does AuditBoard really cost over three years?

At the Vendr median, a three-year AuditBoard contract costs about $152,000, not $138,000. The difference is implementation and renewal escalation, which rarely appear on the first-year number people compare.

LineYear 1Year 2Year 3
Subscription at the Vendr median, 5 percent escalation$45,947$48,244$50,656
Implementation at 15 percent$6,892NoneNone
Total$52,839$48,244$50,656

That is a worked illustration, not a quote: 15 percent sits inside Vendr's 10 to 25 percent implementation band and 5 percent inside its 3 to 7 percent escalation band. Premium integrations, such as ERP connectors, add another 5 to 15 percent of the subscription per Vendr, and premium support another 5 to 10 percent. A multi-year term with a written price cap removes most of the escalation line, which is why it is the first thing to negotiate.

Did Optro change AuditBoard pricing?

No. The rename to Optro on March 9, 2026 changed the brand, not the product or existing contracts, and there is still no public price list. What does change is paperwork: renewal quotes, invoices and the sales team's emails now say Optro, and the pricing page lives at optro.ai. If you are comparing an "AuditBoard" quote with an "Optro" quote, they are the same vendor. Our AuditBoard to Optro rename explainer covers what to check on SSO, sender domains and the vendor record.

AuditBoard pricing vs Workiva, LogicGate and HighBond

Vendr's buyer guide places AuditBoard in the middle of the audit and GRC market on list price. These are Vendr's relative estimates, not published prices, and they come without a stated method, so treat them as direction rather than fact.

PlatformList price relative to AuditBoard (Vendr)Implementation (Vendr)Built first for
Workiva10 to 20 percent higher15 to 30 percentSEC filings and financial reporting
Diligent HighBondComparable15 to 30 percentAudit analytics (ACL, then Galvanize)
LogicGate15 to 25 percent lower10 to 20 percentConfigurable risk workflows
Resolver10 to 20 percent lower10 to 20 percentIncident and risk management

Vendr also reports that buyers who bring a LogicGate or Resolver quote win 10 to 20 percent lower AuditBoard pricing. A competing quote does not need to be from a tool you would actually buy, but it does need to cover the same scope. For SOX specifically, our best SOX compliance software roundup compares eight platforms by what each was originally built to do.

AuditBoard vs Scrutineer pricing

These products overlap only in part, so compare them on the job you need done. Scrutineer publishes every price on its pricing page and covers security compliance and vendor risk. It does not do internal audit workpapers or SOX 404 testing.

Best fitPublic companies and large internal audit teamsSaaS and mid-market teams that need security frameworks and vendor risk

Read it honestly. If you have an internal audit department and a SOX program across many entities, AuditBoard is built for that and Scrutineer is not a replacement. If most of your AuditBoard spend sits in CrossComply and vendor risk, you are paying enterprise GRC prices for work a lighter platform handles, and our AuditBoard alternatives page compares the options feature by feature.

Is AuditBoard worth the price?

AuditBoard is worth it for a public or pre-IPO company with a real internal audit function, many SOX controls and several entities. Its workpaper and testing workflow is the reason audit teams pick it, and the price reflects a platform used across large enterprises.

It is a weaker buy when the audit modules sit idle and the contract is really paying for security framework compliance. Check which modules your team opened in the last quarter before the renewal conversation. For the wider market, see compliance automation software pricing across the platforms buyers shortlist.

How do you negotiate AuditBoard pricing?

Start at least 90 days before the start date or renewal, bring a competing quote for the same scope, and get the renewal cap in writing. Vendr's data shows a 16 percent average saving, and its guide points to multi-year terms, bundles and fourth-quarter timing as the levers that move AuditBoard most.

  • Which modules, named users, controls or entities is this quote built on, and what does the next unit cost?
  • Which people count as stakeholder licenses, which are free, and which count as named users?
  • What is the implementation fee as a share of year one, and what exactly does it deliver?
  • Are ERP and other premium integrations included, or a separate line?
  • Is a 24 or 36 month term available, and is the annual increase capped at 3 to 5 percent?
  • If we drop a module at renewal, what happens to the price of the rest?
