Drata Pricing and What Buyers Actually Pay
Drata pricing on AWS is a $25,000 platform fee plus $7,500 per framework, or $15,000 for 1 to 50 employees. The median buyer pays $25,000 a year.

Drata pricing is quote-only on its own website, but its AWS Marketplace listings publish list prices. A company with up to 100 employees pays a $25,000 platform fee plus $7,500 for each framework, and a company with 1 to 50 employees can buy a $15,000 Foundation package instead. Vendr's purchase data puts the median Drata buyer at $25,000 a year, across contracts from $9,415 to $68,250.
Those figures disagree with each other in a useful way. One framework at list price on the 100-employee listing is $32,500, yet the median contract is $25,000. Most buyers are paying well below list, and the rest of this page explains why, what sits outside the subscription, and what to ask before you sign.
How much does Drata cost?
Drata costs about $25,000 a year for the median buyer, according to Vendr, which tracks 235 Drata purchases. The published list prices are higher: $25,000 for the platform plus $7,500 per framework for a company of up to 100 employees, or a $15,000 package for companies with 1 to 50 employees. Every other route on drata.com leads to a sales conversation.
| Data point | Figure | Source | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Platform fee, up to 100 employees | $25,000 per 12 months | Drata AWS Marketplace listing, read October 2026 | The software line before any framework |
| Each framework | $7,500 per 12 months | Same listing | SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, CCPA, CMMC, Microsoft SSPA and NIST CSF are each a separate line |
| Platform plus one framework | $32,500 a year | Sum of the two lines | List price for a single framework at up to 100 employees |
| Foundation package, 1 to 50 employees | $15,000 per 12 months | A second Drata AWS Marketplace listing | The published entry point for a small company. The listing does not state how many frameworks it includes, so ask |
| Median annual contract | $25,000 | Vendr, read October 2026 | What a typical buyer signs |
| Observed range | $9,415 to $68,250 | Vendr | The low end sits well under the Foundation list price |
| Average negotiated saving | About 23 percent | Vendr | The gap between list and what people sign |
Both AWS listings state that orders are non-cancellable and fees are non-refundable. That is normal for annual SaaS contracts, but it means the first quote you accept is the price you live with for twelve months.
Why the median is lower than the list price
The a la carte list for one framework is $32,500 and the median buyer pays $25,000, so a typical contract lands roughly a quarter under list. That matches Vendr's reported average saving of about 23 percent. Three things produce the gap: small companies buying the $15,000 package rather than the platform line, multi-year terms, and competitive evaluations where the buyer has a second written quote.
The practical reading is simple. Treat the AWS figures as the ceiling a sales rep starts from, not as the price. If your first quote is at or above list for your size, you have not negotiated yet.
Drata pricing by company size
Vendr publishes size bands for Drata. They are Vendr's estimates from purchase data, not Drata figures, so use them to sanity-check a quote rather than to set one.
| Company size | Vendr estimate per year | What usually drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Under 50 employees | $12,000 to $28,000 | Whether you fit the Foundation package and how many frameworks you add |
| 50 to 250 employees | $25,000 to $50,000 | Crossing the 100-employee capacity of the platform fee, plus a second or third framework |
| 250 employees and up | $60,000 to $120,000 or more | Several frameworks, larger capacity and enterprise modules |
Two thresholds deserve attention. The Foundation listing is limited to 50 employees, and the platform fee is sized for 100. A company growing from 45 to 120 people inside one contract term crosses both, and the renewal will reflect it. Put your hiring plan into the first conversation so the quote prices the headcount you will have at renewal, not the one you have today.
What the framework line does to your bill
At list, every framework is another $7,500 a year. A SaaS company that starts with SOC 2 and then adds ISO 27001 for European customers and HIPAA for a hospital deal is carrying $22,500 a year in framework lines on top of the platform fee. Discounts apply to bundles, but the structure means each new customer requirement shows up as a new line item.
That is the question to settle before you buy: how many frameworks will you need in the next two years? If the honest answer is one, the per-framework model is fine. If it is three or more, price the full set on day one, because adding frameworks later is negotiated one at a time from a weaker position.
Costs outside the Drata subscription
The license is not the whole first-year budget. Vendr lists these lines next to the subscription:
- The audit itself, which Vendr puts at $8,000 to $25,000 for a SOC 2 Type II. You contract the CPA firm separately, whichever software you use.
- Implementation services of $5,000 to $20,000, where you buy them.
- Custom integrations for systems outside the standard catalog.
The audit is usually the largest of these, and it is the same number with any platform. Our SOC 2 audit cost breakdown shows what CPA firms charge for a Type 1 and a Type 2.
One purchasing detail is worth checking if you run on AWS. Buying through AWS Marketplace puts the contract on your AWS bill, and depending on your agreement it may count toward an existing AWS spend commitment. Ask your AWS account team before you choose the channel, and once it is signed, make sure the charge is visible in whatever you use to track cloud and SaaS spend, so the renewal does not arrive as a surprise line on the cloud invoice.
Drata vs Scrutineer pricing
The two products price on different models, so compare them on the same scope. Scrutineer publishes every price on its pricing page and sells software only, so you choose and pay your auditor directly, exactly as you would with Drata.
| Drata | Scrutineer | |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | No figures on drata.com; AWS list $25,000 platform plus $7,500 per framework, or $15,000 for 1 to 50 employees | Essentials $599 a month, Growth $1,200, Risk+ $2,500, Enterprise $4,800 |
| One framework, billed annually | $15,000 package or $32,500 at list for up to 100 employees | Essentials, $3,588 a year |
| Three frameworks | $47,500 at list for up to 100 employees, before discounts | Growth covers SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR and PCI DSS for $7,200 a year |
| Vendor risk management | Offered as part of the Drata platform | Risk+ adds third-party risk with vendor scoring for $15,000 a year |
| SSO, SCIM and custom frameworks | Quoted | Enterprise, $28,800 a year |
| CMMC, Microsoft SSPA and NIST CSF | Available as framework lines | Not offered as built-in frameworks |
| Integrations | A large native catalog | A smaller set of read-only connections to cloud, identity and ticketing tools |
Read the table honestly. Drata wins on framework breadth, including CMMC and Microsoft SSPA, on its integration catalog and on brand recognition with auditors. Scrutineer wins on price transparency and on cost once you carry more than one framework, because Growth is a flat price for five. If you are still choosing a platform rather than negotiating with Drata, the Drata alternative comparison covers features side by side.
Is Drata worth the price?
Drata is worth it for a team that needs a framework most tools do not carry, such as CMMC or Microsoft SSPA, or that values a large integration catalog and an auditor network that already knows the product. Those are real reasons to pay more, and for a company with a defined compliance budget and one or two frameworks, the negotiated price is often reasonable.
It is a weaker fit when frameworks will keep arriving with each new enterprise customer, because each one is a separate line, or when your headcount is about to cross the 50 or 100 employee thresholds the listings are built around. For the wider market, see compliance automation software pricing across twelve platforms, or the Secureframe pricing breakdown if that is your other quote.
Questions to ask before you sign a Drata quote
- Is this the Foundation package or the platform fee, and which frameworks does it include?
- What does each additional framework cost on this contract, and is that price fixed for the term?
- Which headcount band is the quote built on, and what happens when we cross it mid-term?
- Are implementation services and premium support included or separate?
- What is the renewal price, and is the annual increase capped in writing?
- Is a multi-year term or an AWS Marketplace private offer available, and what does each change?
